"Pavillioned in Splendor" baby hat

These are preliminary instructions--they've only been tested by my making the hat multiple times. As at the moment I am a bit busy, I hope to get a PDF with more sizes up soon.

You will need:
Size G hook or a similar size that gives you a comfortable fabric.
A small quantity of baby yarn, between sport and DK in weight. (Baby Bee Sweet Delight has turned out at least 10 hats a ball for me, but I used various patterns)

Gauge: We're ignoring gauge at the moment. Babies come in all sizes, and I made my hats for donation anyway.
Note: This pattern is written using US terminology. The hat is worked in joined rounds but all are worked from the right side. All chain 3s count as a double crochet; ch 2s do not.

Crown
Ch 4, sl st into first chain, joining into a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, working over tail, 11 dc into ring, sl st into third ch of beginning ch 3 to join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in every st, sl st into first st to join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in every st, sl st into third chain of beginning ch 3 to join (24 sts)
Round 4: Repeat round 2. (48 sts)
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, *sk 1 st, dc in next 3 sts, repeat from * to end, skipping last stitch. sl st into third ch of beginning ch 3 to join (36 sts)
Pavilion Swirl Pattern:
Round 6: Ch 3, * sc in next st, dc in next st, repeat from * around, ending with a sc. Sl st into third chain of beginning ch 3. (36 sts) In subsequent rounds of pattern, as in Round 7, sc will be worked into the previous round dc and dc will be worked into the previous round sc.
Round 7: Ch 1, sc in same st as join, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc, repeat from * around, ending with a dc.
Sl st into first stitch to join. (36 sts)
Rounds 8-10: Repeat rounds 6 and 7 and repeat round 6 again.
Brim:
Round 11: Ch 3, dc in every st. Sl st in third chain of beginning ch 3 to join.
Fasten off, leaving a short tail (2"-4"). Weave in ends.
